Evercore Partners Inc. (NYSE: EVR) announced today that upon completion of Evercore's acquisition of Lexicon Partners, Stephen CuUnjieng, Evercore's Senior Managing Director based in Hong Kong, will become Chairman of Evercore Asia Limited and Marcus Thompson, Lexicon Partners' Managing Director based in Hong Kong, will become Chief Operating Officer of Evercore Asia Limited. Lexicon Partners is a leading independent investment banking advisory firm with operations in Hong Kong since 2007, and the Securities and Futures Commission licensed Evercore Asia Limited, a Hong Kong company in 2011. Before joining Evercore Partners, Stephen was Vice Chairman-ASEAN at Macquarie and Managing Director at Merrill Lynch and Director at Salomon Brothers. Marcus joined Lexicon Partners in London in 2004 as a partner and opened Lexicon's Hong Kong office in 2007. Prior to joining Lexicon, Marcus worked at Salomon Brothers (re-branded Citigroup) in London and New York. The acquisition of Lexicon Partners, including its Hong Kong operations, is subject to the approval of the Securities and Futures Commission and other regulatory approvals and is expected to complete in the Third Quarter of 2011.
