Infoblox is the Charter Member of New "Friends of ISC" Program
SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Infoblox Inc. today announced that it has joined the Internet Systems Consortium (ISC) "Friends of ISC" program. In this capacity, Infoblox will actively participate with ISC Engineering to help produce, maintain and grow key open source infrastructure software, such as BIND and DHCP - critical protocols for 24x7 Internet access and availability.
Internet Systems Consortium (ISC) was formed in 1994 by leading Internet pioneers who foresaw the need for an independent organization committed to developing the key software needed to ensure the resiliency and transparency of the Internet for the greater good. ISC is best known as the developer and maintainer of BIND, which enjoys a global market share of more than 80 percent of the visible global domain name servers. The new "Friends of ISC" program demonstrates the consortium's strong desire to work even more closely with its partners, customers and constituents in the increasingly complex Internet infrastructure space.
Infoblox pioneered the development of integrated appliance-based systems designed to deliver Domain Name System (DNS) and IP address assignment (DHCP) services as well as IP address management (IPAM). Infoblox's market-leading DNSSEC- and IPv6-ready, purpose-built platforms leverage the popular open source ISC BIND software, coupled with unique Infoblox functionality and technology, such as Infoblox GridTM, to boost resiliency, security and manageability of these essential services. Infoblox is continuing to raise the bar by delivering unequaled solutions designed to meet IPv6, DNSSEC, virtualization and cloud initiatives. Infoblox systems are deployed by more than 5,000 customers, including more than one-third of the Fortune 500.
As the DDI market leader, Infoblox is uniquely positioned to understand the challenges facing most enterprise organizations as they try to address the changing dynamics of the Internet and the related DNS and DHCP services.
Cricket Liu, General Manager and Vice President of the IPv6 Center of Excellence at Infoblox, commented: "We have worked closely with ISC for years, and we are very pleased to formally commence this new phase of our relationship as a Steward and Technical Advisory Board member. Having both Infoblox and ISC experts working together dedicated to supporting the infrastructure of the Internet represents a powerful combination that can benefit the Internet and its participants as a whole."
Barry Greene, President of ISC, added: "I am excited to add Infoblox to our Friends of ISC program. We look forward to teaming with them to progress key Internet protocol development as we begin this next phase of our long-standing relationship. Input, guidance and financial support are key components for ISC's success as a non-profit organization in a for-profit world. With 'Friends' like Infoblox, ISC can achieve our mission of technology leadership for the common good."
