BVAL Adds Exotic & Structured Product OTC Derivatives Coverage
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Numerix, a leading independent provider of pricing and risk analytics, announced today a strategic partnership with Bloomberg to offer more coverage of exotic and structured products via the Bloomberg Valuation (BVAL) service.
Under the agreement, BVAL will utilize the Numerix Bloomberg Edition for the structuring and ongoing valuation of specific complex structured products like over-the-counter derivatives, which will help demystify complex financial instruments and asset allocation strategies and address issues of regulatory concern.
The firms have also agreed to continue sales and support of the Numerix Bloomberg Edition. Delivered on the desktop as an Excel add-in, the Numerix Bloomberg Edition enables structurers and traders to describe any new deal using hundreds of customizable trade templates, an intuitive payoff scripting language and the industry's most comprehensive library of cross-asset models and methods. The solution is turn-key to access Bloomberg's data via the Bloomberg Professional service or via a Bloomberg data license.
"Bloomberg uses Numerix to price specific complex exotic instruments and complement Bloomberg's model library to deliver full coverage to our customers," said Jean-Paul Zammitt, Bloomberg Global Head of Products for the Bloomberg Professional service. "Bloomberg provides transparent, market benchmark derivatives models to price flow and exotic derivatives, as well as structured products, calibrated to Bloomberg data. These capabilities are backed by a strong team of market experts and financial engineers that are responsible for Bloomberg's rapid growth in providing derivatives valuation services."
"We are delighted that Bloomberg has agreed to extend our agreement, which has been active since 2006. We are proud that Bloomberg utilizes our models as part of its valuation service for complex structured products," said Steven R. O'Hanlon, President and COO of Numerix. "The fullness of Numerix-powered solutions alongside Bloomberg's data, infrastructure and derivatives models facilitates transparency for the OTC derivatives and structured products market."
