New Version Includes Automatic Network Discovery and Software Usage Details

MAYNARD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Belarc, Inc. announced today the release of the newest version of its popular Belarc Advisor program. This version includes features such as automatic discovery of all network attached devices, such as network printers, routers, and computers, including those running Unix, Linux and Mac operating systems. The newest Belarc Advisor also shows when each software application was last used, a capability not previously available to home users.

"The Belarc Advisor is one of the most popular programs available today, because it easily and automatically lets users see what's inside their computers," said Gary Newman, President Belarc. "We see around half a million downloads of the Belarc Advisor every month. We think that's because it offers a very accurate and complete picture, and at the same time does not overwhelm the user with unimportant details."

In addition to these new features, the Belarc Advisor gives users a concise and accurate view of all of their hardware, software and security configurations, and shows the results in a Web browser. The information is kept private on the user's computer and is not sent to a Web server. The Belarc Advisor is free for personal use only. Belarc offers commercial versions using the same discovery engine. To download the Belarc Advisor, go to: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html.
