Ocean Park Installs Energy-Saving Motor Controllers with E-Save TechnologyTM to Reduce Carbon Emissions
HONG KONG -- (BUSINESS WIRE) --
With rising CO2 emissions in and around Hong Kong and China, Ocean Park Hong Kong teamed up with US clean-tech company Power Efficiency Corporation to incorporate energy-efficient motor controllers on 8 of the park's guest escalators as part of their ongoing support for energy conservation.
Based on initial monitoring of the escalators containing E-Save Technology, it is estimated that Ocean Park will see a 10 - 15% annual reduction on electricity consumption and carbon emissions.
The motor controllers installed on Ocean Park's escalators feature Power Efficiency's patented E-Save TechnologyTM which senses the load on the motor and regulates the energy required for that particular load. Having this technology allows the escalators to save energy during times of light to medium traffic when escalators are typically less efficient.
"Ocean Park has been actively deriving carbon management policies and energy-saving initiatives in recent years. We are glad to be working with Power Efficiency to introduce energy-saving motor controllers to the Park's escalators. Looking forward, we will continue to develop more green infrastructure to the Park by making use of technology and innovations," said Dr. Allan Zeman, Chairman of Ocean Park.
"We are honored to partner with Ocean Park and introduce our patented E-Save Technology into the park's escalators," says Steven Strasser, CEO of Power Efficiency. "On behalf of myself and the team at Power Efficiency, I would like to thank Ocean Park for their participation in this installation. As the leading theme park in Hong Kong, Ocean Park has consistently been a leader in promoting environmentally responsible initiatives in the region and we are pleased to be collaborating with them on this project."
