)--Emerald Automotive (Emerald), the low-emissions, extended-range electric commercial van company, announced today the appointment of Jim McKelvey to its board of directors.“We are absolutely delighted to have Jim join our Board,” said Emerald CEO Andy Tempest. “He brings an incredible amount of experience and talent for building fast-growing companies with disruptive technologies that define and dominate new markets. We look forward to applying Jim’s talents as we head toward Emerald’s initial production of the t-001.”
Emerald Automotive will bring to market an all-new lightweight, extended-range electric delivery vehicle, the t-001, which can achieve more than 100 miles per gallon and has a range of 475 miles per fueling. McKelvey will serve as a non-executive board member, joining the veteran Emerald Automotive management team and its deep experience in bringing low-volume vehicles to market.
McKelvey, a St. Louis native and Washington University graduate, is a serial entrepreneur who has founded several thriving businesses, including Square Inc., Mira Digital Publishing (online professional and self-publishing services) and Third Degree Glass Factory (community-driven glass production and education).
