Indonesia’s Indosat taps Lithium to deliver next-generation Social Customer Experience, marking latest marquee customer win

CommunicAsia2012

SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lithium Technologies, the leader in Social Customer Experience, today announced the official opening of its Singapore regional headquarters, along with its Sydney office focused on the Australia-New Zealand market. The establishment of these two key regional offices affirms Lithium’s strong commitment to growing its Asia-Pacific business. The company also announced that Indosat, Indonesia’s leading telecommunications network and service provider, has tapped Lithium to deliver a vibrant community to its consumers and fans.

Indosat is Lithium’s latest APAC customer win and further evidence of the company’s strong momentum with international brands. Indosat joins a strong roster of existing Lithium clients in the region including Optus, Telstra and Vodafone Australia. Lithium has a proven track record across global industries, including serving four out of five of the world’s largest telecommunications companies.

“Social, mobile and cloud have changed how companies must deliver the customer experience,” said Lithium President and Chief Executive Officer Rob Tarkoff. “Consumers in Asia-Pacific are incredibly connected and their adoption of social, mobile and cloud technologies will clearly surpass that of other geographies.”

Social media has shifted the balance of power in consumers’ favor and companies like Indosat realize that to succeed in this new reality they must meet their customers wherever and however they choose to engage with the brand.

“I’m thrilled and honored that Indosat -- one of APAC’s most respected and innovative companies -- has chosen Lithium as its social business partner,” Tarkoff said.

Indosat Chief Commercial Officer Erik Meijer said: “Social and mobile platforms allow companies to invite customers to play a totally different role in the company. Instead of being just customers, they now can become extended members of their favorite brand companies, providing valuable services for other customers and the company. Indosat clearly recognizes the crucial role community plays in providing even better service and value to customers.”

Dr. Kuo-Yi Lim, CEO of Infocomm Investments (IIPL), a subsidiary of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), said: “Enterprises are witnessing a shift in engagement models where a one-way flow of communication with consumers is no longer viable. Technology has fundamentally changed how brands and consumers communicate and we are excited to facilitate Lithium’s growing presence in Singapore and Asia-Pacific.”

Infocomm Investments advises and supports global venture-backed technology startups expanding to Asia.

“Establishing Lithium’s APAC headquarters in Singapore with its outstanding infrastructure and advanced business climate made clear strategic sense. We are honored to join the Singapore business community,” Tarkoff said.

During a keynote address today at CommunicAsia 2012, Tarkoff will discuss effective strategies for harnessing the power of social customers in today’s new social/mobile reality. The keynote takes place at the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, at 10:40 am local time.
