HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--KBR (NYSE: KBR) announced today that its International Government, Defence and Support Services (IGDSS) business unit received two Gold Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Occupational Health and Safety Awards for the third consecutive year.

FTX Logistics—a subsidiary of KBR that operates the Heavy Equipment Transporter service for the UK Ministry of Defence—is the recipient of one of the awards.

High performance, well-developed health and safety management systems and low levels of error, harm and loss are achievements that led KBR to receiving the esteemed awards. KBR provided documentary evidence of its approach to health, safety and performance, highlighting the company’s uncompromising commitment to health and safety through the delivery of KBR’s safety program at all levels of the organization.

According to Andrew Pringle, President, IGDSS, “KBR’s behavioral safety program gives individuals the opportunity to improve self-awareness, heighten risk perception and get involved in safety, so that any potential hazards may be prevented.”

“These awards recognize occupational health and safety success for both IGDSS and for its subsidiary company FTX Logistics,” said Pringle. “It is an honor to receive these prestigious awards for the third straight year. This achievement proves that our dedication to safety is paying off.”

The annual RoSPA Awards offer organizations a prime opportunity to prove their ongoing commitment to raising health and safety standards. The awards, started in 1956, have become one of the longest-running and most highly-respected occupational award programs in the UK.

KBR is a global engineering, construction, and services company supporting the energy, hydrocarbon, government services, minerals, civil infrastructure, power, industrial, and commercial markets. For more information, visit www.kbr.com.
