CHICAGO--(www.davinci3d.com) made its cinematic debut today in conjunction with the International 3D Society. Jim Chabin, CEO of the Society, asked Steve Blumenthal, CEO of DaVinci 3D to convert from 2D into 3D, the closing montage for the AOA (American Ophthalmology Association) meeting, part of the International 3D Society’s outreach program.
)--DaVinci 3D Corp. (The AOA invited the International 3D Society to demonstrate how 3D is changing entertainment and education. Jim Chabin created the Chicago montage with Mike Piltzecker of Influence Pictures in LA for the presentation in Chicago. The clip utilized footage of iconic Chicago landmark’s including the city skyline.
Mr. Stephen Blumenthal, formerly co-founder and inventor of the 3DFusion technology, has been a pioneer in auto stereoscopic screens and 3D conversions for the last 30 years. He recently formed DaVinci 3D, based in Ithaca, NY, to advance 3DTV for the B2B and consumer markets. DaVinci has developed accelerated conversion processes for both 3D with glasses and Glasses free AS3D.
DaVinci 3D introduced its new semi automatic stereoscopic conversion for Movie theater size screen in Chicago for the first time. Mr. Chabin praised both the extraordinary effort and the results.
“DaVinci came through under extremely tight deadlines and got a great ovation from 2500 eye doctors. The clip was a hit,” Chabin praised.
“It was the response we had hoped for,” continued Blumenthal. “We showed our toughest critics, a With Glasses audience of eye doctors, what our 'Natural 3D' ASD image for the consumer 3DTV market will look like, and they loved it.”
Summarized Blumenthal, “what differentiates Da Vinci 3D from the field is that our methodology mimics the naturalness of how our eyes see. DaVinci 3D AS3D Digital Signage displays (Auto stereoscopic Displays - ASD) attract attention at a 20’ viewing distance, while offering the customer a natural, non-abusive 3D image that can be viewed as comfortably as HDTV. If 3DTV can’t compete with HDTV, it is a non starter.”
The successful theatrical demonstration of this inexpensive 2D to 3D conversion methodology bodes well for the 3D content industry. DaVinci 3D invites Film, Production Houses, Archive and Library owners to re-evaluate their conversion needs based on DaVinci's dramatically lowered rates. Contact - davinci3dbiz@gmail.com.
DaVinci 3D will introduce B2B glasses free, ASD 3D sets at the 3D Summit in LA this September. “Our Chicago debut for 2D to 3D conversion clearly demonstrates that our conversion technology has ‘legs’. This is the first high quality 2D to 3D semi-automatic conversion process to come to market and we are just beginning to convince the skeptics. Our goal is to transfer this theatrical quality ‘off line’ conversion process into our real time 3D ASD technology.”
Can consumer sets be far behind? Blumenthal smiled.
