SHANGHAI--(BUSINESS WIRE)---- Due to the inversion of domestic and overseas coal price in China, China coal import increased dramatically and continuously. According to the China Customs, the coal import volume reached 9.43 million tons this May, three times more than the same period last year, which hit a historical high. From January to May in 2009, the net coal import in China totaled 21.67 million tons, with 32.2 million tons coal import and 10.53 millions tons export.
How do domestic coal producers deal with high export-dependency? Are there any opportunities for overseas investment? Has ocean freight hit the bottom? Do end users like power companies and steel enterprises have other choices?
In the 3rd Asia Pacific Coal Trading and Investment Outlook 2009 (Sep. 24-25, Zhuhai China), the above mentioned questions will be answered thoroughly. Specialized in Chinese commodity market, CBI China, the organizer will share some finding of the newly launched report, China Coal Market Research 2003-2012. The Asia Pacific Coal Trading and Investment Outlook series has been successfully held twice, each time gathering 200+ high-level industry insiders to communicate, to discuss and to have networking.
This year CBI China will continue to invite the authoritative officials from major coal export countries, for example Mr. M.S. Marpaung, the head of mine and coal mine enterprise of Indonesian Ministry of Coal and Mine Resource, Mr. Du Dingruan, the GM for Import and Export from Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group, Mr. Mike Henry, the vice president for Business Development from BHP Billiton and etc. Owing to the widespread favorable comments, this annual conference is now getting more and more wide recognition. The 3rd Asia Pacific Coal Trading and Investment Outlook 2009 will undoubtedly be a grand gathering for the coal industry insiders.
