)--Brown-Forman (NYSE:BFA) (NYSE:BFB) announced today the appointment of Terry Yip as managing director, China, effective October 8. In this role, Yip will be responsible for the leadership and performance of Brown-Forman’s business in China, Macau and Hong Kong.Yip has extensive experience in Asia in various commercial leadership roles, including general management, finance and operations. He has been in the spirits industry since 1997, working for Diageo for much of that time, most recently as Operations Director, China. He is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
“Terry’s diverse China experience in the beverage alcohol sector equips him well to lead our efforts in this important market,” said Michael McShane, managing director of the Asia Pacific Region for Brown-Forman.
Yip, who holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the Auckland Institute of Technology, New Zealand, and a master’s degree in finance from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia, will be based in Shanghai, where Brown-Forman’s China headquarters are located.
