SAN JOSE, Calif.--(
)--Proximex™, a global leader in physical security information management (PSIM), announced today that its Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) solution has been implemented on the Windows Azure cloud computing platform. The Proximex Surveillint™ Cloud Edition implementation serves as a signal of marketplace acceptance of the Windows Azure cloud-based solution delivery model from Microsoft Corp. for mission-critical enterprise applications.Surveillint by Proximex connects and correlates information from disparate systems into one centralized view to help mitigate risk, ensure compliance and lower total cost of ownership. Cloud enabled deployment options for Surveillint offer a number of potential advantages to PSIM users, including:
- Capital savings, by eliminating the requirement for customers to procure, deploy and maintain system hardware to support their infrastructure software environments
- Flexibility, by providing customers with the ability to quickly expand capacity to support changing operational needs on demand
- For management, the ability to better understand and plan for the operational requirements and costs associated with PSIM deployment and operation
“Windows Azure provides a scalable and flexible foundation for building great enterprise solutions,” said Kim Akers, General Manager, Microsoft. “With Surveillint™ Cloud Edition, Proximex is helping their customers quickly realize the benefits of running their mission critical applications on Windows Azure.”
Valley Inception, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm and business incubator has deployed the solution to help manage its access control and physical security systems. Since there was no need to procure and install additional infrastructure software, the Proximex Surveillint Cloud Edition solution was able to be deployed rapidly into the company’s environment.
“Proximex Surveillint Cloud Edition is easy for us to maintain because the database and web infrastructure are deployed and managed by Microsoft in the Windows Azure cloud,” said Jack Smith, Founding Partner, Valley Inception. “We anticipate that this cloud-based solution will allow us to very easily scale our solution and service levels as our needs change for years to come.”
Satory Global, a consulting firm specializing in IT deployment and cloud computing and a Microsoft Azure Circle West Region partner of the year, assisted Proximex in the implementation of Surveillint on the Windows Azure cloud platform.
“We are working with several Fortune 1000 customers who are looking to implement IT infrastructures in the cloud, and Proximex Surveillint Cloud Edition represents state-of-the-art cloud-based IT implementation,” said Neil Mackenzie, Microsoft Azure Architect, Satory Global. “I believe many of our customers will be keenly interested in this solution because of the many potential benefits offered by the cloud computing model.”
