SD721 for reliable measurement of angular rate in systems for platform stabilization or data acquisition of movements
GRAZ, Austria--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SensorDynamics, a producer of sensors for the automotive and manufacturing industries, today announced the launch of the micromechanical SD721 gyroscope (angular rate sensor) in standard SOIC28 plastic package. Compactness, mechanical ruggedness and high stability in the long term make it especially suitable for industrial-, medical- and consumer applications dealing with stabilization of moving systems or analysis of movement. Typical applications are compensation of tower crane swinging, movement detectors for high risk patients and game consoles. The SD721 sensor module is qualified, series tested devices are now available.
Sensor features
The micromechanical sensing element of SD721 guarantees a high shock resistivity of 1500g in operation and 2000g unpowered. Due to the low noise design SD721 has a high dynamic range; the effective number of bits is 10 at a measurement range of ±300°/s. SD721 is fully temperature compensated from -25°C to +105°C. The maximum offset is ±2,5°/s for all operating conditions. More technical details are in the attached SD721 datasheet. Furthermore an AEC-Q100 qualified, fail-safe version with full automotive temperature range of -40 to +125°C is available.
?We are happy to announce the start of mass production of the micromechanical gyroscope SD721 achieving an outstanding production yield. Currently SD721 is transferred to our production- and test partner, ASE Korea“, said Hubertus Christ, CEO of SensorDynamics.
Availability and Price
The SD721 is now available. Please contact our local sales representatives for a competitive quote for series production. A small evaluation board with PWM outputs for direct use in application circuits is available for USD 200 (see also attached datasheet).
