)--Transaction Network Services (NYSE: TNS) has expanded its presence in Asia with the opening of an office in Taiwan and the appointment of David Chiang as Country Manager.The office was opened after TNS had been granted a Type II Telecom Business license by the National Communications Commission of Taiwan, which enables it to provide international telecommunication and transactional processing services in Taiwan. TNS is working with a leading payments company in the region to migrate its business to a fully managed PCI DSS compliant service, delivering significant operational benefit and cost savings.
Mr Chiang, who speaks Mandarin, English, Taiwanese and French, will be responsible for generating new sales leads in the Greater China region, developing relationships with local banking and merchant organizations and promoting TNS solutions in the Taiwan market. In addition, he will lead the Taiwan office based in Taipei.
With more than 30 years of experience in the payments industry across Taiwan, China and USA, Mr Chiang joins from Nexsys Corporation and has previously held roles with companies including Chia Hsin RMC, ComLink, E&M Technology and Kapiit Inc. He brings specialist knowledge and expertise in retail credit card issuance, acquiring and processing, as well as international trade finance. Mr Chiang will be assisted by James Wu, who joins the company from Far East Tone Telecom.
