TOPICS
Celebrating its 10th anniversary with a new message of, "Challenge! Aiming to better people’s lives and create a low-carbon society."
CEATEC JAPAN will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Boasting an over fifty-year history beginning with the first Television and Radio Parts Show in 1958, predecessor of the Japan Electronics Show, the 2000 integration with COM JAPAN to create CEATEC JAPAN represented an important step forward for this comprehensive trade show.
And in commemoration of CEATEC JAPAN’s 10th anniversary, the Organizing Committee has created a new message, "Challenge! Aiming to better people’s lives and create a low-carbon society", to highlight the measures being taken to combat global warming as well as activities of the IT & electronics industry in relation to the "Green IT" theme. And as a special event this year, the Organizing Committee will work together with NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization) to establish the Green IT Pavilion to introduce the latest leading-edge energy conservation technologies of Japan, which has become a leading force in the world for the creation of a low-carbon society.
The Green IT Awards 2009 event will be held to award outstanding Green IT products and introduce energy conservation technologies from various corporations. A symposium will be held simultaneously with this event and an international conference, which will invite government officials and Green IT related personnel from Asian countries to participate, will also be held in commemoration of CEATEC JAPAN’s 10th anniversary.

Digital products connect to networks through digital convergence, while content and service help to expand markets through platforming and in light of these developments, the Life Contents Frontier (a part of METI’s 2008 International Contents Market Reinforcement Activities) will showcase the growing role that content is playing in communications between people.
The Content Experience Zone will also enable visitors to experience different ways of enjoying media centering on movies, 3D movies, and music entertainment software as well as IPTV, Blu-ray, and more. Additionally, a "listening room" will be made available to allow visitors to experience superior sound reproduction, which is an important aspect of video content.
CEATEC JAPAN will further strengthen its status as a business tradeshow
Significant growth in a number of diverse technological fields has lead JEMA (The Japan Electrical Manufacturers’ Association) and JBMIA (Japan Business Machine and Information System Industries Association) to participate in CEATEC JAPAN as associate support organizations. Invitations provided to visitors by a variety of organizations and industry-related companies will further strengthen CEATEC JAPAN’s relationship with business users. By selecting stimulating themes and actively promoting the distribution of information as well as holding new Technical Seminars that correspond to the selected themes during the show, it is anticipated that more engineers will visit CEATEC JAPAN.
