-Transmission Rates of More than 90% Realized-
SAITAMA, Japan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Toko, Inc. (headquartered in Saitama Prefecture’s Tsurugashima City, Shigeru Kawatsuhara, President and CEO), a developer and manufacturer of electronics parts, focusing primarily on its coil products business, has announced that it will demonstrate a proprietarily developed wireless power transmission at CEATEC 2009. Attendees will be able to witness an wireless power transmission that Toko’s proprietary technologies have developed to minimized transmission loss, maximize convenience of use and contribute to further energy conservation.
Inductive power transmission has many positive aspects. It offers convenience of use, reliability, water resistance, dust resistance, etc. Most technological efforts in this field have focused on cordless phones to date. Although more than 10 million units have shipped in 2008, this technology is expected to expand into the cell phone and digital camera markets moving forward.
Ten years have passed since Toko began developing and mass-producing products that used magnetic conductance technologies for inductive power transmission. Greater efficiency in the transmission of power is the key to development of wireless power transmissions.
Toko has continued to improve transmission rates with proprietarily developed experience and expertise. Of particular importance is the coil portion, which is the key to inductive power transmission technology. Coil technology is one of Toko’s strengths, and we have achieved a transmission rate of 93% between coils (as of September 1, 2009).
As a result, the overall system transmission rate for a 2.5 watt class system is now 84%.
As an experienced manufacturer of coils, Toko also maintains leading-edge technologies in fields such as coiled power lines, magnetic analysis, materials analysis and more. Toko uses all the expertise we have accumulated since our founding in 1955 to further develop inductive power products with even higher transmission rates.
Toko, Inc.
Toko was founded in 1955, the same year in which we developed the world’s first intermediate frequency transformer (IFT). As we’ve advanced with a focus on coil products, we’ve also designed, developed and manufactured coil-related products on a global scale. Our products are intimately related with our efforts to further energy conservation, and as a result are part of our efforts to contribute to a better global environment as well.
