60 U.S.-Listed Chinese Companies to Present to Institutional Investors on Trends in Energy, Consumer, Education, Infrastructure, Healthcare, Other Emerging Areas
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Following last year’s ROTH China comes to Vegas Conference and the 2007 China comes to Phoenix Conference, the ROTH China America Tour continues with its third stop to Miami’s South Beach.
Sixty U.S.-listed Chinese companies and ten U.S.-based companies with growth prospects in China will meet with institutional investors during ROTH’s Third Annual China Conference, scheduled for October 12-14, 2009, at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach.
“Interest in the U.S.-listed China sector from our institutional client base has never been stronger,” said Mark Tobin, Director of Research at ROTH. “This interest is driven by widespread confidence that China is poised to lead the world out of recession. The performance of U.S.-listed China equities reflects this confidence, with ROTH ‘s Research Universe of 53 companies gaining 104.7 percent year to date.”
Tobin said, “ROTH’s China research team believes the sector has substantial room for further growth and has selected companies for this conference that are well-positioned to benefit from China’s overall strong economy and secular trends.”
"ROTH's China Research Coverage Universe currently trades at a price-earnings (P/E) multiple of approximately 12.5x its 2010 EPS estimates, reflecting a 20% discount to Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index and a 40% discount to the Shanghai Composite. This earnings multiple also represents a significant discount to these companies expected growth rates,” Tobin said.
The Miami line-up includes Chairmen, CEOs and CFOs of companies from some of the most exciting sectors in China, including energy, infrastructure, consumer, industrials, healthcare, education and technology, with an average market cap of $270 million. While the majority of the presenting companies are China-based, this year’s conference also features 10 U.S.-based companies with growth prospects in China, offering investors additional exposure to emerging trends.
The schedule is designed to give investors ample time with management teams via company presentations and one-on-one meetings. ROTH’s China analysts will also be on hand to provide additional insights into the presenting companies and their respective sectors.
On Tuesday, ROTH will feature a special China Energy Track, which will include presentations from 19 companies that operate within China's energy sector, including transportation fuels, energy storage, power generation, electricity transmission & distribution, and renewable energy. The China Energy Track is highlighted by a speech by Louis Schwartz, President of China Strategies, LLC. The presentation will address China's current energy mix; forces that are driving China's energy industry in new directions; government investment in energy generation and distribution; the emerging model for sustainable development in China; and the opportunities for foreign investment in the transformation of China's energy infrastructure.
“We view the build-out of China’s energy infrastructure as one of the most compelling investment themes over the next several years,” said Tobin. “The keynote and company presentations in this track should provide investors with insights into the fundamental trends in the sector and help them identify the most attractive industry segments and investment opportunities.”
This conference is another chapter in ROTH's commitment to China. Over the past five years, ROTH has taken U.S. investors to more than 50 company facilities in mainland China and hosted approximately 300 China company presentations at its U.S. and China conferences. ROTH opened its Shanghai representative office in May 2007 and currently employs 25 China-focused professionals. Since 2006, ROTH has completed 47 capital raising transactions totaling more than $2.2 billion. Since May 2009, ROTH has completed seven capital raising transactions for Chinese companies, raising approximately $300 million.
Over the past five years, ROTH has had the opportunity to experience Chinese culture through the hospitality of its clients. The ROTH China America Tour aims to return the favor by showing their Chinese clients exciting American cities and aspects of American culture, while providing them with exposure to some of America’s best small- and mid-cap institutional investors.
