BEIJING -- (BUSINESS WIRE) --
InfoComm China 2013 – Jupiter Systems, the industry leader in display wall technology and an early investor in China, today announced record infrastructure sales in 2013 of its Fusion and PixelNet display wall processors in that country. Jupiter products are installed in command and control visualization for a wide variety of Chinese industries, including power, water, airports, railways, seaports and highway traffic management, public security, mining, telecommunications, broadcast, finance and enterprise markets.
“Jupiter Systems continues to drive record sales of display wall solutions to the Chinese market, especially in the country’s critical infrastructure industries, which consistently have been the key driver of economic growth,” said Chuck Kelley, Chairman of Jupiter Systems China “The public investment by the Chinese government, along with the energy and enterprise of the Chinese people, and Jupiter Systems’ own early investment in China, have laid a strong foundation for our company’s success. We are well-positioned for future growth in China, with our local manufacturing, sales, and service operations, as well as a strong base of Chinese partners and the industry’s highest quality, most reliable, products.”
This year Jupiter display wall systems have been installed at the State Grid Corporation of China, which is one of the largest electric utilities in the world, managing distribution throughout most of the Northern, Eastern and Middle provinces of China. Jupiter Systems has also sold display wall systems to many of the State Grid Corporation’s subsidiaries, including: Shanghai Municipal Electric Power Corporation, Jiangsu Provincial Electric and Power Company, Liaoning Electric Power, Hubei Electric Power, Hunan Province Electric Power, Qinghai Province Electric Power and Gansu Electric Power and the Control Center of the State Grid.
In addition, Jupiter installations can be found in many other industries throughout China, such as:
- Liaoning Provincial Expressway Administration and Guangdong Traffic Group (intelligent traffic management)
- Shenzhen Bay Port, Shanghai Administration of Customers, Shenzhen Marine Bureau (ports)
- Yima Coal Mine, Henan Province and Pingdingshan Coal Mining Group (coal mining)
- Daqing Oil Management Bureau, Inner Mongolia Yitai Group (oil and gas)

Shanghai Meteorological Bureau: Case Study
Jupiter’s installation at the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau is illustrative of the kinds of installations for large government agencies that are managed by Jupiter Display Wall Systems. Shanghai Meteorological Bureau’s state-of-the art meteorological operation tower provides comprehensive weather forecasts, emergency command, storm and atmosphere warnings, and other weather alerts for conditions likely to cause floods or fires, or otherwise endanger lives or property.
The Shanghai Meteorological Bureau’s operation tower is a complex and challenging installation, where high performance and reliability are critical 24/7. The operation tower is comprised of 13 floors and is considered one of the foremost buildings in the meteorological field. The bureau uses Jupiter’s patented PixelNet® Distributed Display Wall System to manage 10 display walls, 35 single screens, and more than 100 input sources.
Jupiter’s patented PixelNet® is a revolutionary way to capture, distribute, control and display digital and analog video sources with unrivaled flexibility and scalability. PixelNet supports multiple display walls as well as standalone displays. From dozens to hundreds of video sources can be brought into one PixelNet domain and then distributed to any or all displays and walls within the domain. PixelNet adopts Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet switches and switch stacks to provide high frame-rate connections from every source to every destination. Any video source can be shown as a window on a single display, either by itself or sharing space with up to 30 other sources in windows on that display, or the source can be shown zoomed up as a large window spanning multiple display devices in a tiled display wall.
“Jupiter Systems’ early investment in China through its wholly-owned subsidiary, an experienced sales and service team, a strong base of Chinese partners, and our globally recognized quality all set the stage for these strong results,” said Chuck Kelley, Chairman of Jupiter Systems China. “We continue to see strong and growing demand for our products in the Chinese market that parallels China’s rapid economic growth. We are grateful to our Chinese customers and business partners for helping to deliver our best quarter ever.”
“The success in China of Jupiter’s high performance display wall processors are the result of an ambitious, long-term sales strategy,” said Guomin Zhang, General Manager of Jupiter Systems China. “During the past year Jupiter has expanded its national sales and service organization across China, and increased sales training and support in all Jupiter products for hundreds of people in our new state-of-the-art training center. And we have developed key third party partnerships, such as a recent agreement with Beijing Newway Electronics to enhance Jupiter training and support. We are committed to the Chinese market and look forward to expanding our participation in this extremely strong economy.”
Jupiter Products will be showcased at InfoComm China 2013 in Beijing from April 10 – 12, 2013 in Booth #D1-01.
