COLOMBES, France--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oberthur Technologies, one of the world’s largest providers of security and identification solutions and services, announced today the signing of the final acceptance of the Uzbekistan e-Passport system, in the presence of Mr Elyor Majidovich GANIEV, Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
As a system integrator and thanks to its strong system expertise worldwide, Oberthur Technologies has implemented over the last two years a turnkey end-to-end identity system solution including citizen enrolment, e-passport personalisation, document verification, border control and authentication. Uzbek citizens can now benefit from the latest state-of-the-art secure electronic passports, provided by Oberthur Technologies.
To enhance the security level of the Uzbekistan passport, which also serves as a national identity document, Oberthur Technologies provides a strong Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). This is based on system-One™ PKI for eMRTD¹ which offers a secure and modular infrastructure to manage dedicated digital certificates, compliant with ICAO² and EAC³ standards.
In addition, Oberthur Technologies closely assists the Uzbek government in the upgrade of their infrastructures in order to assembly and manufacture secure passports.
