SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Immersion Corporation (Nasdaq:IMMR), the leading developer and licensor of touch feedback technology, today announced that the company will be demonstrating its latest innovations in haptics technology for mobile and automotive applications during CommunicAsia 2013, June 18 – 21 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
Immersion will be showing two innovative mobile UI technologies:
- Tactile Presence opens up a tactile channel between two devices that allow users to actually feel one another’s presence. Spontaneous play, interactive gaming, and emotional communications are all enabled as users feel the remote actions of another user on their device and communicate emotion through tactile effects.
- The Integrated Themes Module creates a holistic UI experience by injecting specialized tactile effects into the lock screen, home screen, transitions, button confirmation, notification tray and alerts. The module comes with a series of pre-designed reference themes, but OEMs can easily customize with their own assets to create a unique and branded experience.
The company’s automotive haptics technology gives digital controls an authentic, mechanical feel and confirming response that cuts glance time. Haptic technology can create a more intuitive automotive user interface that increases user confidence. Automotive demonstrations will be on display at CommunicAsia highlighting how haptics can enhance touch pad and touch screen interfaces.
“Our haptics technology is evolving the way people interact with the digital world,” said Dan Cho, Vice President of Asia. “We are pleased to connect with and demonstrate Immersion’s proprietary technology to CommunicAsia’s diverse industry professionals from around the world.”
