WIESBADEN, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For efficient sorting, order picking and storage of goods, customer and object related data needs to be captured and processed. VITRONIC will present its camera-based identification systems for Parcel Logistics and Warehouse & Distribution companies at Australia’s leading supply chain event Smart Conference and Expo in Sydney: VICAMsnap! speeds up capture processes, increases productivity of employees and reduces the logistics cost per item.
Advantages for efficiency, productivity and cost-savings
The compact multi-code reader is most suitable for optimising data capture processes in Warehouse & Distribution, e.g. for handling of returns and inbound inspection, order picking, sorting and outbound inspection. As different code types on packages are read automatically, all capture processes are accelerated, cycle times are shortened and the logistics cost per item is reduced. The captured data is transmitted to warehouse management or CRM systems and can be used for further customer or object related processes. In addition, the productivity of the employees is increased as remarkably more articles can be processed in a shorter time.
VITRONIC’s VICAMsnap! is mounted above the workstation, captures barcodes and 2-D codes fully automatically and provides images for archiving. Thanks to the large reading field of 31 cm width, 26 cm depth and 30 cm height, the user can move objects with both hands extremely fast underneath the camera.
This saves time during data capture and increases the productivity of the employees. There is no need for additional and expensive reading stations and materials handling. The resulting ROI period for VICAMsnap! is very short.
VICAMsnap! will be on display at the VITRONIC stand at the Smart Conference and Exhibition 26 - 27 June 2013, Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre
