SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE Group, one of the world’s largest multiline property and casualty insurers, announced today the appointment of Glen Browne to lead its Accident & Health business in the Asia Pacific with effect from 1 January. Mr. Browne takes over from Juan Luis Ortega who was recently promoted to role of Regional President for Asia Pacific.
Mr. Browne’s experience in the insurance industry spans close to 20 years. In 1993, he began his career with a British multinational insurance company in New Zealand where he originates, and joined ACE in New Zealand as the National Commercial Business Manager in 2000. Recognizing his capabilities in small commercial business, he was promoted to join ACE’s Regional Headquarters in Singapore as the Regional SME Manager for Asia in 2002. In 2003, he was appointed as General Manager for Taiwan where he was responsible for the distribution of Accident & Health products through multiple channels across Taiwan.
After leaving ACE in 2005, he joined other international insurance companies in increasingly more responsible operational and management positions with stints in Japan as the Chief Marketing Officer and Europe as a Regional CEO. Most recently, he was the Country President for Thailand, leading the operation to a new level of growth and market engagement. Mr. Browne has a broad range of management experience encompassing underwriting, sales and marketing, product development and relationship management.
On this new appointment, Juan Luis Ortega said, “Glen’s track record as a growth leader coupled with his strong regional exposure will hold him in good stead as he assumes his new role. As we continue to diversify our distribution channels, Glen’s success in engaging distribution partners and delivering the best which ACE has to offer in term of data analytics and customer management, will position us well in the Accident & Health business as a partner of choice.”
