SYDNEY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Malaysia Airlines and leading travel insurance and assistance company, Cover-More Group, have expanded their partnership into India and New Zealand.
Malaysia Airlines’ customers in India and New Zealand will now be able to access tailored travel insurance when they book their flights. This has been available to the airline’s customers in Australia, Malaysia and Singapore since December 2012.
Malaysia Airlines and Cover-More travel insurance plan to expand their partnership into Europe and China in 2014.
The expansion coincides with Cover-More’s upgrade of their proprietary optimisation platform, Impulse. The enhancements further integrate Impulse into the Malaysia Airlines booking system, ensuring a deeper profiling to match tailored insurance cover to customers in real time.
Cover-More Director of Sales Carole Tokody said: “We are thrilled to offer more Malaysia Airlines customers comprehensive protection when they travel as we expand our partnership into India and New Zealand.
“Our Impulse platform integrates seamlessly with Malaysia Airlines’ booking engine, and the recent enhancements to Impulse mean passengers are offered travel insurance that is even more closely tailored to their individual needs and type of journey.”
Cover-More’s Impulse is cloud hosted, allowing Cover-More and Malaysia Airlines to cope with peak periods and implement system upgrades easily.
Impulse works in real time to offer travel insurance protection matched to the customer’s profile, based on the details provided when they book and their travel plans.
Malaysia Airlines Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Distribution, Duncan Bureau said: “We are delighted with the strong growth we have already seen in the markets where we offer Cover-More travel insurance protection to our customers and we’re looking forward to seeing the same performance in India and New Zealand.
“This expansion is the next phase in our partnership, and in 2014 we will also offer our customers in Europe and China travel insurance and medical assistance protection when they book a flight with us.”
Cover-More travel insurance, together with Malaysia’s leading insurer Etiqa, won the contract with Malaysia Airlines in late 2012 to provide travel insurance and medical assistance to passengers for five years. Malaysia Airlines customers can book their travel insurance anytime online, via a mobile device or with the Malaysia Airlines customer service centre.
