ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Interior earned a lion’s share of the honors by winning 14 Stevie awards at the 2014 11th Annual International Business Awards held in Paris. The Stevie Awards are the world's premier business awards, recognizing innovation, corporate excellence, and international business. Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at the Abu Dhabi Police, received the Gold Stevie Award for “Information Technology Executive of the Year”.
Brigadier Sultan Yusuf Al Nuaimi, Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Ras al Khaimah ranked third in “Customer Service Department” and “Executive of the year 2014”. Colonel Sheikh Mohammad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director of Peripheral Regions Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police ranked third in “Human Resources Executive of the Year”.
These wins reinforce the ministry’s position in the Global Competitiveness Index, and contribute to preserving security and stability, and advancing prosperity and development in the Ministry of Interior’s various sectors.
The awards were as follows:
The Directorate General of Electronics and Telecommunications Services won the Gold Stevie Award for the “Best Electronic Department”, and the Technical Support Department at the Directorate General of the Electronics and Telecommunications Services won bronze for the “Best Technical Support Department”. The Technical Support Department team won the bronze for the “Best Technical Support Team”.
The Abu Dhabi Police obtained the Silver Stevie Award for “Non-Profit Government Organization – Public Relations”. The UAE Embassy’s Police Attaché Office in Washington DC, USA won the silver for the “Best Administrative Team and Government Organization”; bronze for “Public Relations – Non-profit Organizations”; and the bronze for the “Best Customer Service Department”. The UAE Embassy’s Police Attaché Office in London, United Kingdom won the gold for the “Best Support Team” and the silver for the “Best Management Team”.
The 2014 IBAs received over 3,500 nominations submitted from more than 50 countries.
