TAIPEI, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The annual event of the IT sector, 2015 COMPUTEX TAIPEI, will return in June, and with it, the COMPUTEX d&i awards. A collaboration between show organizer, TAITRA, and renowned German design institution, iF International Forum Design GmbH, these awards garner the attention of both domestic and international companies. This year’s awards are gearing up to be even more competitive with entries from returning industry leaders and many start-ups.
The selection for the 2015 winners was concluded on April 9th by a six-member international jury. Each juror is an expert in different design areas, ensuring that the winning designs do not fall flat.
The 8th COMPUTEX d&i awards received approximately 300 designs from seven countries, with major participating labels such as DELL, Philips, HTC, Acer, and ASUS. The entries fall mostly in wearable technology and products relating to smart home security and the Internet of Things. Juror Olivier Molody expressed, we are seeing more products this year that can be operated from a cell phone, which shows the continuing development of IoT and its effects. IoT is expected to remain a strong trend next season. Another juror, Mr. Bill Sermon also states that in addition to basic smartphone syncing, the submitted wearable tech designs are moving towards smart life through the detection and analysis of the user’s bodily functions.
The winners of the 2015 COMPUTEX d&i awards will be announced at the end of April. The awards will be presented at the COMPUTEX press conference on June 1st, and the winning designs will be displayed at the Nangang Exhibition Hall throughout the expo duration, before embarking on a tour of the major international ICT/Electronics trade shows—CES, MWC, CeBIT, IFA, and GITEX.
