BURR RIDGE, Ill.--()--Brookfield Global Relocation Services (Brookfield GRS), a leading provider of global mobility services, today released its 20th annual Global Mobility Trends Survey report. The 2015 results highlight the challenges that corporate mobility professionals face as they strategically plan for, and operationally implement, employee transfers around the world.

Key findings explored in greater detail include:
  • A wide range of economic pressures confront multinational organizations, yet 88 percent of respondents expect international assignments to increase or remain the same.
  • Primary challenges for mobility managers include the need to find cost efficiencies while delivering high levels of employee support, capturing “the value” realized from international assignments in order to establish the resulting ROI accruing to their employers, and meeting the needs of accompanying spouses/partners to pave the way for first-choice candidates to accept key assignments.
  • Mobility programs are becoming a vital element of broader talent management strategies – and offer multinational employers an important dimension for recruiting, retaining and deploying the best people to help achieve their business goals.
  • Critical emerging markets present some of the most difficult assignment challenges. Respondents ranked China (1), Brazil (2) and India (3) as presenting the greatest challenges for both the assignee and the corporate mobility manager.

“This year’s results demonstrate that mobility has risen on the broader talent management and global business agenda, necessitating more strategic, collaborative and innovative partnerships between internal stakeholders as well as with their external partners,” said Traci Morris, President & Chief Executive Officer for Brookfield GRS. “Mobility leaders are challenged to align business goals with the personal requirements of their mobile employees while navigating a changing and increasingly complex global economic landscape.”

Findings in the 2015 report are based on survey responses from Global Mobility and Human Resources professionals from 143 multinational companies, and represent an array of mobility program structures, industry sectors, and geographic markets.

Brookfield GRS has developed a microsite for the results which includes a Data Explorer that allows visitors to view and filter survey responses by region, industry and size.
