COSTA MESA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--M∙A∙C Cosmetics and South Coast Plaza are partnering to mark the debut of a limited edition beauty collection inspired by the gowns of Guo Pei, China's esteemed haute couturière.
To celebrate the new M∙A∙C Cosmetics Guo Pei collection, four of the designer's one-of-a-kind haute couture gowns will be on exhibit exclusively at South Coast Plaza (Jewel Court) from October 1-4. This will be the only U.S. appearance for the elaborate dresses, which will be unveiled to the public for the first time.
"Guo Pei's creations are a vibrant embodiment of the alchemy between fashion and art,” said Debra Gunn Downing, Executive Director of Marketing at South Coast Plaza. “That convergence is a theme that we are always excited to showcase.”
The opulence of the gowns is reflected in the design of the Guo Pei cosmetics, which are available from Oct. 1 through Nov. 1 at the M∙A∙C Pro boutique at South Coast Plaza - the exclusive West Coast location for the collection. Influenced by what the designer calls "The Garden of the Soul,” the 16-item collection priced from $17.50 to $70 features a face powder, eye colors, blushes and eyeliners in rich jewel tones, lush neutrals and a deep graphite, along with brushes adorned with an elegant floral print.
This is the first makeup collaboration for the designer. Renowned in China, Guo Pei became internationally famous last spring when Rihanna wore one of her lavish embroidered gowns to the Met Gala. Two of Guo Pei's creations were on display in "China: Through the Looking Glass," the smash exhibition this year at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
