With the Internet of Things sweeping through the industry, the growing number and diversification of connected devices will impel the demand and production of chips. Leading semiconductor market researcher IC Insights stated in 2014, IC sales growth in subsystems for the Internet of Things is expected to reach a CAGR of 22.3%, the strongest in the IC sector, while production value for semiconductors may exceed $10 billion USD. The World Semiconductor Trade Statistics forecast is similarly optimistic, predicting a 3.4% growth in the global semiconductor market in both 2015 and 2016, of which Taiwan will grow at twice the global pace.
Taiwan doesn’t only have a seat at the semiconductors table. The Taiwan-based COMPUTEX trade show is the annual event attended by global ICT titans, a long list that includes ARM, Broadcom, Cypress Semiconductor, Intel, MediaTek, NVIDIA, NSP, and STMicroelectronics in the 2015 exhibitors. The same year also saw product launches from Qualcomm and AMD, while Samsung joined the forums. The 2016 COMPUTEX is expected to feature as many semiconductor and IC companies on the showground.
Demand for COMPUTEX exhibitor spaces in previous years has exceeded availability. Interested exhibitors are encouraged to register as soon as possible. For the most up-to-date information, please visit the official COMPUTEX website: www.computextaipei.com.tw
