GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (NYSE: SIX), the world’s largest regional theme park company, today announced that Riverside Investment Group Co. Ltd., an award-winning tourism and real estate developer, broke ground on a 30 billion yuan (USD $4.6 billion) development project that includes China’s first-ever Six Flags-branded theme park. The mixed-use development area is located in Haiyan, south of Shanghai, and the Six Flags theme park is expected to open in 2019.

The first phase of the mixed-use development project will be a new exhibition center that will open this fall and provide visitors an interactive preview of the upcoming offerings.
