TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Toshiba Corporation's (TOKYO:6502) Storage & Electronic Devices Solutions Company today announced that its application processor ApP Lite™ family’s TZ1000 for IoT and wearable devices is deployed in “Helo”, the new smart wristband from US-based World Media & Technology (“Wor(l)d”).
The ApP Lite™ TZ1000 detects the user’s vital signs with high-level precision and low power consumption when active. Harvested data is sent to the user’s smartphone utilizing its Bluetooth® low energy wireless technology.
Wor(l)d’s smart wristband “Helo” detects vital signs from the wrist, and continuously monitors and analyses the user’s condition and sends results to a smartphone. Use of the TZ1000 contributes to the wristband’s high-precision sensing capabilities, miniaturization and low power consumption.
To aid designers, Toshiba has developed various software algorithms for the TZ1000 series, including Activity Monitoring, PPG (photoplethysmography) Monitoring and ECG (electrocardiography) Monitoring, that together provide a total system solution for wearable products.
Toshiba will continue to drive development of application processors for IoT and wearable devices.
