SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Augmented reality pioneer Meta Company has filed suit in federal court in the Northern District of California against former employee Zhangyi Zhong and Dreamworld USA, Inc. (d.b.a. “Dreamworld Vision”) for misappropriation of trade secrets and confidential information under the Defend Trade Secrets Act and the California Uniform Trade Secrets Act, and for breach of contract, among other claims. Meta has released the following statement:

At the same time, Meta also takes the confidentiality of its trade secrets and proprietary technical, strategic and business information very seriously. By filing this lawsuit, Meta is seeking to protect years of confidential research and development into innovations that are incorporated into its current and future products from being wrongfully misappropriated by a former employee solely for personal gain.”
The company will be providing no further comment on the action.
