ANSAN, South Korea--()--Seoul Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (KOSDAQ:046890), a leading global innovator of LED products and technology, has won the Most Creative LED Technology Award for its advanced SunLike series natural spectrum LEDs in OFweek China LED Lighting Awards 2018.

The OFweek Award represents LED lighting industry highest honor in China. Award winners were determined by the average scores of online voting and LED experts who participated on juries.

“SunLike LEDs are the world’s first LEDs to produce light that closely matches the spectrum of natural sunlight. It creates a healthy lighting environment by producing natural spectrum light that brings the era of human-centric lighting,” said Sen Wu, marketing vice president of Seoul Semiconductor for China. “This recognition by OFweek as the most creative LED technology confirms that light sources with SunLike LEDs are revolutionary to bring differentiated value to lighting industry.”

Seoul Semiconductor introduced its SunLike natural light LEDs technology for healthy and museum lighting at OFweek LED forum held on November 13th, next day of the award ceremony. “SunLike LEDs enables users to view textures and objects more clearly,” explained Sen Wu as speaker. “Light sources with SunLike LEDs more accurately show the color of objects as they would appear in natural sunlight, making them ideal for use where quality light is necessary, such as art galleries, or wherever human-centric lighting is important.”

According to the results of a study done by the Bio-Information Laboratory of Seoul National University Hospital in July of 2018, SunLike Series natural spectrum LEDs have been shown to reduce eye discomfort and improve sleep patterns.

SunLike Series LEDs for 25W single light source have also achieved RG-1 level of Eye Safety certification from the Korea Testing & Research Institute in 2017. This is the safety level given to light sources with no photobiological risks.

SunLike Series natural spectrum LEDs were co-developed through the combination of Seoul Semiconductor’s optical semiconductor technology and Toshiba Materials’ TRI-R technology. TRI-R technology, supported by Toshiba Materials, defines its original concept as “the light closest to the sun for human wellbeing.” TRI-R technology enables the spectrum of natural sunlight to be reproduced by a white LED light source technology. TRI-R is a registered trademark of Toshiba Material Co., Ltd.

OFweek is a leading provider of market intelligence on high-tech industry in China, including services for comprehensive knowledge database, seminar and exhibition, industry consulting and training.
