It is said that due to the spread of the IoT and AI in recent years, the amount of information data around the world has increased tenfold over the last few years. In response to this, chip makers are working to improve the productivity of highly-integrated, state-of-the-art memory chips. In the lithography process, the output power of the KrF laser, which is used as the light source, directly contributes to productivity improvements, so the achievement of improved output power is highly anticipated.
In order to meet these demands, Gigaphoton’s G45K KrF laser realizes 50W of output power, 25% more than previous models, providing higher productivity-efficiency production of state-of-the-art memory chips. It also extends the lifetime of the main modules by 20% and greatly reduces the necessary downtime for maintenance, contributing to increased productivity. In addition, Gigaphoton’s “helium free” green technology is installed as standard, as with previous models, and “hTGM (Neon Gas Recycling System) is also available, which are also effective in reducing operational costs.
Katsumi Uranaka, President & CEO of Gigaphoton said, “With the rapid spread of the IoT and AI, improving state-of-the-art memory chip productivity is an urgent need for the chip manufacturers who are our customers. I am confident that the world’s highest output power class and reduced downtime due to module lifespan extension achieved by Gigaphoton’s G45K KrF laser can contribute to efficient production for our customers.”
