Network Load Balancing, Application Traffic Acceleration, and Security Optimized on Celestix Appliances

FREMONT, Calif. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Celestix Networks is announcing the release of their new series of XLBTM traffic manager appliances for enterprise network environments. Celestix designed XLB appliances to manage and deliver network application services faster, more flexibly, and at a lower cost through a variety of functions that accelerate and intelligently route application traffic.

XLB traffic manager appliances inspect and process network traffic using TrafficScriptTM inspection engine software. TrafficScript performs bidirectional deep-packet inspection on network Layer-7 which supports application and user processes. Besides inspecting network traffic, TrafficScript lets administrators create sophisticated policies for managing users' requests for application services. XLB appliances also employ Java Extensions to provide additional processing capabilities for other uses such as deep content manipulation, authentication as well as other data operations.

To ease the processing burden on application servers, XLB appliances offload processor-intensive functions such as SSL decryption. XLB appliances also provide HTTP content caching, TCP offload, traffic buffering and HTTP optimizations to create an environment in which applications run at peak efficiency.

XLB's TrafficClusterTM software protects application infrastructures against compound failures by performing active and passive health monitors as well as performance monitors on application servers. In case of a server failure, XLB redirects traffic through the functioning servers in the server pool. XLB also protects service quality by directing traffic across the fastest servers in the infrastructure.

For added security, XLB appliances provide total server isolation, request and response scrubbing, request validation, and request rate shaping to protect your application infrastructure from direct attacks, invalid or malformed requests, and malicious or incidental flash floods.

Commented Celestix President Yong Thye Lin, "XLB appliances are the next logical step in Celestix product portfolio because the main portion of our business centers on secure application publishing through our MSA web security gateway appliances and WSA unified access gateway appliances. The ability to offer application management and optimization with load balancing is a great step forward for our customers."

Celestix is offering XLB appliances in three models, the XLB 8000 for very large enterprises, the XLB 6000 for large enterprises and the XLB 5000 for mid to large enterprises. For more information, visit www.celestix.com.
