PARIS -- (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Dow Microbial Control, a business group of The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) announced today at In-Cosmetics that it has expanded its family of globally-approved NEOLONETM solutions to include NEOLONE PH 100. NEOLONE preservatives are vital in helping protect water based cosmetics and personal care products from microbial contamination.
NEOLONE PH 100 is a high purity, non-formaldehyde-releasing product useful in baby care, hair care and skin care formulations including shampoos, hair conditioners and creams with ingredients such as avobenzone, emulsifiers, surfactants and zinc pyrithione (ZPT). Based on a single active, phenoxyethanol, it is effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria, fungi and yeast, as well as over a wide pH range of 4.0 to 8.0. NEOLONE PH 100, which is both oil and water soluble, also boasts high performance when used in combination with other fungicides or preservatives.
"Dow Microbial Control is committed to developing new preservatives for the personal care industry that help our clients protect their products beautifully," said José Mosquera, strategic marketing manager, Dow Microbial Control. "We are pleased to introduce NEOLONE PH 100, which is designed to guard against the growth of microorganisms and maintain performance of leave-on and rinse-off applications."
Eco-friendly NEOLONE preservatives are easy-to-use in formulating and manufacturing, effective at low-use levels and maintain stability at high and low temperatures. Specifically, NEOLONE PH 100 has a low odor and will not impart additional levels of Phenol or unwanted color to a finished product.
