Ooyala Now Supports Management, Syndication and Analytics for YouTube Videos
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Ooyala, a leading provider of end-to-end video platform applications and services, announced today that publishers now have the ability to manage, syndicate and analyze YouTube videos from within the Ooyala platform.
This new feature allows publishers to add YouTube videos directly to their Ooyala account, display those videos through their own player, and then use all of Ooyala's powerful analytics for video on-demand. This makes detailed analytics, player branding, full video management and other advanced features available for all YouTube videos. YouTube hosts and delivers the videos and their API's are used to play the videos. This enables publishers to have their YouTube videos and powerful video analytics all in one platform.
"This new feature allows media companies to embed YouTube videos and then use Ooyala's excellent metrics to see how those videos perform specifically on their sites," says Sumant Bhatia, Editor for Telegraph TV. "Consumers and journalists can upload videos to YouTube, and media companies can then feature that user-generated content online."
"Publishers average a 2x increase in engagement when they add online video to their sites," says Bismarck Lepe, co-founder and President of Product at Ooyala. "Higher engagement means more revenue. Unfortunately, many publishers haven't figured out how to create, publish and manage online video. The ability to manage YouTube videos inside Ooyala gives our publishers access to the world's largest repository of short and long-form video, improving the content experience they've created on their own site and creating more monetization opportunities."
"Ooyala is a terrific video player solution for us," said Dan Burke, Director of Product Management at GigaOM. "One highlight is their new YouTube feature. We will be able to use YouTube content alongside our vast library of in-house videos, maintaining a consistent look and feel with consistent analytics."
The YouTube management enhancement is available now in all Ooyala accounts, and until May 31st is free of charge.
