Accidents on Bushehr Nuclear Reactor May Occur
TEHRAN, Iran--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran's president has tackled number of Iranian and global issues during an exclusive interview with Al Aan TV. The president has declared that Iran doesn't really need the support of the European countries especially those who are influenced by the United States' policy.
Nisreen Sadek, Head of News in Al Aan TV, had conducted an interview with the Iranian president this week to highlight on the current crucial situations in Iran and its consequences internally and externally.
The special interview highlighted on the Iranian economy and the side effects of inflation and its relation with the nuclear file, confirming that "Iranian economy today is one of the strong economies and has strong capabilities and the annual income average has increased.”
Responding to the questions about the location of the Bushehr reactor that Iran had built near Arabian Gulf he went to say "There are more than 10 million Iranians living close to this station in Khuzestan, Fars and Shiraz provinces, if there is anything to be afraid about of course the Iranian government is very sensitive regarding this issue. We are using very accurate technologies and specialized abilities in this regard and keep following up the security and safety of the reactor.” He added "Incidents do happen everywhere and this is applicable for everything, I mean a ship may sink, a military warehouse may explode, and our concerns must not be restricted to Bushehr station."
Underscoring Iran’s foreign affairs, the president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said, "We believe that if we want to continue our lives then we need not to depend on a major power because we don’t need to depend on others. Iran itself is a major power and a great power that doesn’t need to rely on others and we have friendly relations with all other countries. We also told the European countries that it is good for them to have separate policies from the US and to be independent and they are free to choose what they want.”
Finally the interview sheds light on the Iranian president's personal life, where he talks about his family and his favorite hobbies.
The full interview will be aired on Friday June 11, 2010 at 8 pm KSA timing on Al Aan TV during "This Week" show.
