(NASDAQ: SOLR), a global provider of polysilicon production technology, crystalline ingot growth systems and related PV manufacturing services for the solar industry, today announced that it has begun installation of its new DSS450HP™ crystalline growth systems at GCL’s new wafer manufacturing facility. The new high performance crystalline growth systems are part of a large GCL purchase agreement reflected in the company’s FY2010 year-ending backlog.

GT Solar is leveraging its depth of service personnel located in China and its flexible manufacturing model to ramp production, ship and install the DSS450HP systems in GCL’s new wafer manufacturing facility. A dedicated team of field service personnel will rotate through GCL’s facility to ensure that installation and acceptance of the systems goes smoothly.
