Acquisition Enables Global Manufacturers to Leverage the Cost and Agility of Global Supply Networks while Protecting their Brands and Ensuring Product Quality
CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Camstar Systems, Inc. announced today that it has acquired SigmaQuest, a rapidly growing provider of SaaS (Software as a Service) Supply Chain Intelligence solutions. SigmaQuest serves the largest brands in the world in the High Tech/Electronics, Solar, Clean Tech, Medical Device and A&D industries. SigmaQuest SaaS products coupled with Camstar’s Enterprise Platform create the most comprehensive solution for advancing product quality across the extended supply chain.
“Global manufacturers and brand owners are wrestling with optimizing and leveraging the cost advantages of growing global supply networks while ensuring product quality to protect their brands,” said Scott Toney, President and CEO of Camstar. “With the acquisition of SigmaQuest, we are uniquely positioned to provide the service and technology for global manufacturers to have the transparency and collaboration required to efficiently manage their contract manufacturers and suppliers.”
“For the first time, a single platform will provide the ability to aggregate and contextualize data, provide actionable intelligence, and drive corrective and preventative actions to eliminate product quality issues at the source,” said Nader Fathi, CEO of SigmaQuest.
“Our research shows that diagnosing problems based on production data – and SOLVING them quickly – is a hot-button issue for manufacturers,” said Julie Fraser, Principal Industry Analyst at Cambashi, Inc. “With the acquisition of SigmaQuest, Camstar gains a unique ability to support companies in resolving or avoiding quality problems not only in their own facilities, but across the global value network. This combination of functionality could add significant value for customers of both product sets, and help Camstar continue its rapid growth as an enterprise manufacturing software player.”
“This acquisition makes perfect sense for Camstar’s solution portfolio to serve global brand owners like SanDisk,” said Didier Chavet, IT Sr. Director, JAPAC Operations for SanDisk. “These new tools will enable greater predictive quality to analyze incidents not only from your inner supply chain but also from your external supply chain - including suppliers and contract manufacturers.”
Camstar is acquiring SigmaQuest in its entirety. All employees will become part of Camstar, and SigmaQuest headquarters will merge with Camstar’s Silicon Valley location.
