FORT MYERS, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Interop Technologies, the premier provider of core wireless solutions for messaging, device management, and gateway connectivity, today announced that its 4G Messaging Gateway now supports three new variations of the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)/Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).

Operators using the Interop Technologies hosted technology gateway can now take advantage of plain text, CDMA-encoded, and GSM-encoded SIP support to maintain seamless messaging interoperability with legacy handsets and networks.

Interop initially announced availability of its highly modular, scalable, and extensible 4G Messaging Gateway in October 2009 and indicated that support for more IP protocols would be added. The company’s use of gateway layer protocol converters easily accommodates new protocols without changes to the messaging core or services layers. Neither today’s functionality enhancement nor the initial availability of 4G messaging for hosted customers required any changes in configuration or billing, nor was any intervention needed by these operators.
