Introduction to Benikea

Developed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, Benikea is the first economical tourist hotel chain in Korea. Its name simply means “Best Night in Korea.” Benikea was officially launched in April 2007, and the name is meant to convey the idea that Benikea is a “major Korean hotel that provides travelers with only the best.”

Benikea was developed to provide high-quality services at affordable prices to the increasing number of domestic and foreign travelers wishing to make their own reservations. It is a stimulating, active operation of medium- and low-priced tourist hotels in Korea, and contributes to strengthening the Korean tourism industry through improvements in accommodation infrastructure. There are currently 44 special rank “2 and under” Benikea tourist hotels in Korea, and they are spread across the major tourist destinations, including Seoul, Busan, Gangwon, and Jeju.

Only hotels that pass the strict evaluation process of the Benikea hotel chain as regulated by the Korea Tourism Organization can join this chain. An expert certification facility objectively evaluates every aspect of the hotel, from the facilities to services provided. Therefore, customers can be rest assured that the hotels they are residing in have passed this evaluation and are up to standard.

Tourist hotels of special rank 2 or under are a part of the Benikea chain, and the off-season weekday rate of a standard room is around 100,000 Korean won a night, at most. A Benikea hotel is therefore the ideal choice for customers who are looking to travel at reasonable prices.

All Benikea hotels maintain systematic service quality management through employee service education, customer surveys, and mystery shoppers, so that those staying at the hotels can avail of the comforts of the hotels and the services provided along with the guarantee of a good deal.

The Benikea website supports four languages—Korean (www.benikea.co.kr), Japanese (www.benikea.jp), Chinese (www.benikea.cn), and English (www.benikea.com)—and all reservations can be made online. In addition, the website displays photographs of the different types of rooms, comments from people who have actually stayed at the hotels, and useful Korean tourism information provided by the Korea Tourism Organization, based on which the tourists can make their choice.
