will develop global markets with a new Made-in-Japan Product based on the concept of "Easy Installation and Simple Operation"
OTSU, Japan -- (BUSINESS WIRE) --
OPTEX CO., LTD. (TOKYO:6914) is ready to formally enter the water quality testing market when it begins selling a new turbidity meter that uses 90-degree scattered light method on November 30th. The method meets the international standard for measuring turbidity.
The turbidity checker, the TSC-10, shines light from an LED light source (the measurement light), and that light reflects off the surface of suspended matters floating in the water. The reflected light (the scattered light) is detected by an optical sensor placed at a 90 degree angle from the light source. The turbidity is determined by the strength of the detected light (the volume of detected light) and the density of suspended matters floating in the water. Compared to the attenuated light method previously used in turbidity meters by OPTEX, this method allows more sensitive turbidity measuring.
Major Applications
- Measuring turbidity in municipal waste water and industrial waste water
- Measuring turbidity in the surface water of rivers, lakes, ponds, and etc.,
- Measuring turbidity in cooling water for factories and other large-scale commercial facilities
"Since we developed the world's first transparency measurement system for measuring the water transparency in 1993, we have developed sensors that measure the cloudiness of water, including visibility sensors, SS sensors, turbidity checkers, and etc., "says Tatsuya Togo, a sales representative, "They are in use in more than 1,000 locations throughout Japan. Our concept for our new turbidity checker, which uses measurement methods that meet the international standard, is the 'easy installation and simple operation.' This concept is highly valued in Japan, and we are also certain that the turbidity checker, the TSC-10, can contribute broadly to water management overseas as well."
