LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Institute of Risk Standards and Qualifications (iRSQ), which develops and promulgates internationally-recognised professional competency standards and qualifications in risk management, today announced that it has named three additional members to its independent advisory board: John McCormick, Carl Adams and George Vojta. They join Angus MacLennan, the founding Chairman of the board. The advisory board provides governance and oversight to iRSQ and helps shape its strategic priorities.

Their combined expertise will serve iRSQ well as industry adoption of the iRSQ competency standards and qualification grows.”

Angus MacLennan, founding Chairman of the iRSQ Independent Advisory Board, is former CEO and Co-Head of Fortis Merchant Bank. Prior to this he was an Adviser on strategy and change for a number of major international banks. Mr. MacLennan was also a Senior Executive on the Executive Committee for Danske Bank. He has held several key decision-making roles including Vice President of the British Bankers Association, Board Member of the Danish UK Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Association of Foreign Banks. He was also a Member of the Steering Group on Regulatory Capital for the Institute of International Finance.
John McCormick is Chief Executive, Global Banking & Markets, for RBS Asia Pacific. From 2002 to 2005, John was responsible for the bank’s financial markets global sales and marketing activities and was Treasurer of the Wealth Management Division. He has also served as the bank’s Global Head of Interest Rate Derivatives and Financial Futures.
Prior to RBS, John was with Bank of America for 16 years in Ireland, the UK and the US and was responsible for its derivatives business in Europe, Middle East and Africa. He has also worked with Bank of Ireland and Chase Manhattan, and as a forex, cash and derivatives trader.
Carl Adams is President of the NY Chapter of the Risk Management Association and Executive Director and CFO of the Financial Standards Foundation. Mr. Adams also serves as Principal of Capital Framework Advisors and has served as a senior risk advisor for numerous public and private sector institutions, including the IMF and the US National Intelligence Council. He also served as a consultant and senior advisor to the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA).
Previously, Mr. Adams was Global Director and Portfolio Risk Manager for Country Risk at Merrill Lynch for 11 years.
George Vojta is founder and Chairman of the eStandards Forum and the Financial Standards Foundation, which focus on regulatory, legislative and public policy issues related to global finance. He is a former Vice Chairman of the Board and member of the Management Committee of Bankers Trust Company and its parent company, Bankers Trust New York Corporation.
Mr. Vojta serves as a Director of a number of institutions, including Sumitomo Bank Capital Markets and the International Executive Service Corps. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the New York State Banking Board, and Chairman of the Board of the Wharton Financial Institutions Center at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also founding chairman of the Millstein Center for Corporate Governance and Performance at Yale University, from which he received his B.A. and M.A.
