UKI InspectaScanTM authentication device, improves supply chain management Anti-Counterfeit solutions
HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--UKI Group CEO, Mr Anthony Dunlop, today announced UKI Systems has achieved rapid market acceptance for the recently launched InspectaScanTM authentication device, further accelerating the penetration of its Product Authentication and Anti-Counterfeiting solution in a number of markets. Launched last month, InspectaScanTM is the first of a new family of UKI anti-counterfeit scanning devices.
Mr Dunlop sees the increased interest as a direct response to increasing concern over the impact of counterfeiting and a growing recognition that the counterfeit pandemic requires a systematic, solution-oriented approach to have a chance at success. "We are certainly seeing a shift in the trajectory of UKI anti-counterfeit solutions in those markets we have targeted as high priority. This is a definitive endorsement of our solution-based approach, combined with an ever-increasing recognition of the size, scope and importance of the counterfeit issue to business and other stakeholders. Customers see that we take an encompassing view of the counterfeit problem and address key factors that allow them to take an effective stand. This includes a thorough understanding of manufacturing quality standards, supply chain issues and enforcement and measurement of brand protection initiatives.
"Our recent success stems in large part from our alignment with vertical sectors such security printing and product manufacturing and packaging, to reach industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, tobacco and alcohol," Mr Dunlop explained. "We are particularly glad to see adoption coming from Asia, which continues to build on its status as manufacturer to the world."
Mr Dunlop outlined the approach that has engendered this success for UKI. "Simplistically, our approach can be summarised as follows: First, intervention at critical points of impact; target product origination and enable widespread adoption throughout multiple supply chain stakeholders. Second, facilitate adoption without disruption by reducing adoption barriers for as many stakeholders as possible, not just brand owners using the technology, but also businesses involved in product manufacturing and packaging for brand owners. Third, scale to meet the scope of the problem, while facing the economic realities of counterfeiting to swing the balance in favour of rightful product owners. Scale requires ease of adoption and provides operational consistency, reliability and accuracy in varied conditions, while understanding that cost is perhaps the greatest limiting factor to the adoption of conventional anti-counterfeiting measures, especially in markets where counterfeiting originates and proliferates."
UKI delivers secure, immediate and reliable product authentication, using covert marker technology that brand owners, and their upstream or downstream suppliers or logistics providers, can adopt with minimal disruption. "UKI delivers the reliability and scalability required to be effective in a way that attacks the source of the problem and inverts the economics of counterfeit, the costs and other barriers to entry, in favour of licit stakeholders." Mr Dunlop said.
ABOUT UKI
UKI Group is a market leader in provision of anti-counterfeit and product authentication solutions. UKI provides the technology needed by brand owners, manufacturers, retailers, governments and other stakeholders to enable effective, systematic disruption of counterfeit activities, in order to protect consumers, brands and the interests of legitimate businesses. UKI delivers superior anti-counterfeiting technology in a diverse new range of affordable mass market applications.
The UKI Group product and technology portfolio delivers a multi-tiered range of chemical markers with various performance features, supplied as a range of masterbatch concentrates which are pre-mixed with inks, polymers, paper, textiles, pulp blends and other raw materials for seamless low cost implementation directly into customer production lines. These hidden and covert (invisible) additives are intrinsically embedded in products and packaging during production. UKI's markers become part of the product and cannot be removed, unlike competing technologies which are usually affixed to the product or packaging. In addition, UKI delivers proprietary scanners as part of closed loop protection solutions that facilitate fast, effective product authentication in the field, which minimise the cost and training burden, or risk of identification inaccuracies, associated with other technologies. The result is a complete solution overcoming the limitations of many existing counterfeit technologies, which may be very expensive, non-scalable or otherwise relatively easy for counterfeiters to defeat.
UKI Group solutions are reliable and effective, yet affordable and simple enough to implement in large scale response to the counterfeit pandemic effecting the health, wealth and livelihoods of consumers, businesses and governments globally.
