TAIPEI, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--After finishing its 184-day run at the 2010 Shanghai Expo, the Taipei Pavilion sponsored by Foxconn Technology Group will be rebuilt at the site of the Pavilion of Future in the Xinsheng Park Area of the Taipei International Flora Exposition after the ongoing exposition ends on April 25, 2011.
Taipei City Government noted the Taipei Pavilion saw more visitors queuing up than any other pavilions at the Urban Best Practice Area in Puxi during the Shanghai Expo. It was also the first pavilion in the area that issued reservation tickets and the only pavilion that offered online reservation service.
In addition, the Taipei City Government said the Taipei Pavilion was one of the top pavilions other cities or countries wanted to emulate and had the greatest number of partners during the Shanghai Expo that concluded on October 31.
The Taipei Pavilion features the beauty and progress of Taipei City over the years in three exhibition areas – 101 3D Theater, Theater of the Future and Interactive Gallery.
The 3D Theater projects a film titled “Taipei, Life, Smile” to let the audience experience different aspects of life in the virtual Taipei City, while the Theater of the Future is a pyramid-shaped glass screen on which a film is projected to show how a family in Taipei City enjoys the benefits of successful recycling and the widespread coverage of wireless broadband services as well as future applications of wireless broadband.
To offer the people in Taiwan an opportunity to see how the Taipei Pavilion demonstrates Taipei City’s strengths in technology, environmental protection and humanistic culture, Foxconn founder Terry Gou has decided to donate the Taipei Pavilion to the Taipei City Government and sponsor all the expenses on transport and rebuilding of the Taipei Pavilion in Taipei, while the Taipei City Government will be in charge of managing the pavilion.
