Most Prestigious Award for Innovative and Cutting-edge Industrial Design
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nordson EFD, a division of Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq: NDSN) has won the coveted “GOOD DESIGN AWARD” for 2010 for the Optimum Cartridge System.
Founded by the curator of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and now in its 60th year, the Good Design Award is the oldest and most prestigious Awards program for innovative and cutting-edge industrial design in the world. Each year designers in over 30 countries are honored for the singular achievements in producing hallmarks of contemporary design.
Nordson EFD developed the OptimumTM cartridge system to help today’s manufacturers and fluid packagers apply controlled amounts of the adhesives, sealants, lubricants and other assembly fluids used in almost every manufacturing process.
“Nordson EFD designed each component as part of a complete, integrated system to help manufacturers build their products better, faster and more cost-effectively,” according to Nordson EFD president Jeff Pembroke. “We are delighted with the positive feedback we have received from customers and are very honored to be recognized with the Good Design Award which further validates our approach.”
The award criteria includes a quality design of the highest form, function, materials, concept, utility, construction and aesthetics, a standard beyond consumer products—the design must embody product excellence and strong public identity. The public seal of approval immediately informs consumers that the selected product meets the most rigorous test and criteria for design excellence.
In June 2011, the Chicago Athenaeum will hold the Good Design Award exhibition and the Optimum Cartridge System will be displayed in the Permanent Design Collection of The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and be exhibited around the United States and abroad.
