- To Engage Digital Audiences for Discussing Future Energy Topics, Issues and Questions
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s multi-faceted initiative advancing the development and deployment of renewable energy and clean technologies, today announced it is significantly boosting its online social media efforts to facilitate and enhance worldwide dialogue, discussion and collaboration about the issues emerging from the fourth annual World Future Energy Summit (WFES) in Abu Dhabi. WFES 2011 – the world’s largest conference and exhibition on renewable and future energy solutions – will be held from 17-20 January at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
Leveraging the forum, Masdar’s amplified digital and social media offering will provide interactive displays at the Masdar exhibition stand in the ADNEC atrium, as well as innovative events throughout the week to enable a digital conversation connecting conference participants and renewable energy advocates around the globe. Each of Masdar’s social media offerings will be signified through the Twitter-based hash tag #TweetMasdar.
“Online and social media has grown to be critically important to engage global audiences and raise widespread awareness around important issues such as future energy,” said Aida Al Busaidy, Manager of Internal Communications, Social Media and Community Outreach at Masdar. “Masdar is fundamentally an innovator and trailblazer, so we naturally saw social media as an ideal platform for dialogue not only with WFES attendees, but with a global digital audience interested in the themes, stories and events emerging from the Summit.”
“The World Future Energy Summit will bring together more than 20,000 renewable energy advocates, experts and leaders from across the globe for collaboration and conversation. Masdar’s social media efforts will expand the conversation even further, making the dialogue in Abu Dhabi accessible worldwide.”
Masdar’s expanded social media efforts will include a virtual wall at the Masdar exhibition stand to showcase live Twitter conversation stimulated by questions of the day about future energy issues, connecting active and passive attendees as well as digital communities following WFES 2011 around the globe. The company’s Twitter conversation can be found through the @Masdar handle.
Similarly, Masdar will host for the first time a networking event that integrates live social media discussion to unite conversation between conference delegates in Abu Dhabi and digital audiences interested in engaging them from abroad.
Focusing on renewable and future energy solutions, innovations, investments, policy and vision, WFES 2011 will cover a wide range of themes including energy policy, investment and funding, green buildings, clean transport, solar, wind and bio fuels.
