MILFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Thinklogical, a major provider of fiber optic broadcast and Pro AV distribution and router transport solutions, displayed several new SDI extension products at Integrated Systems Europe, February 1 – 3 at the RAI, Amsterdam. Thinklogical showcased their new SDI Xtreme 3G+ SDI Extension series of products which includes compact, broadcast quality components for extension of up to four signals, as well as the SDI Xtreme 3G+ rack mount product with a quad interface design.

The SDI Xtreme 3G+ is an economical two part system, comprised of a compact transmitter and receiver, designed for the transmission of 3G, HD and SDI and HD- SDI signals with or without embedded audio and data. Using SFP duplex small form factor pluggable modules, the system offers broadcast quality coax to fiber transmission from 1000 meters up to 40 kilometers (24 miles) via multi-mode or single mode fiber optics. Therefore, it is an ideal solution for Pro A/V, broadcast, and corporate studio applications, including video production and editing, sports tele-production, field production, cross-town fiber links, cross on–campus production, pre-fibered venues, courtesy feeds and many more.

“Maintaining the integrity of the signal is of utmost importance as it goes through various media, such as copper to fiber. We understand this and have designed a system which hits all key performance specifications for things such as system jitter and error free pathological patter operation,” states Kevin Keefe, Vice President of Research and Development at Thinklogical. “Furthermore, we have added a convenient RS-422 port which provides a full duplex channel to send/receive data making it ideal for remote camera operations. This particular feature was met with a lot of enthusiasm at the ISE show.”

The reliability of the SDI Xtreme 3G+ stems from the quality of its design and construction, with advanced integrated re-clocking circuitry designed into the transmitter and receiver. Equalized and re-driven SDI loop-through is also provided on the transmitter. These key features provide assurance that the signal is equalized and re-clocked prior to fiber transmission; therefore it retains all of the signals initial parameters allowing for pristine re-clocked SDI outputs on the receiver. Additional options for the transmitter component include loop-out, or dual channel, which provides two multiplexed (1.485 Gbps) signals transmitted and received over a single fiber.

The SDI Xtreme 3G+ line of products are fully compatible with Thinklogical’s line of video routers.
