ITASCA, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Knowles Acoustics announces the introduction of a MEMS Joystick which enhances user experience while navigating, scrolling and playing games on handheld devices. The ultra low-power KMJ0401IC, 40μA in Active Mode and 3μA in Sleep Mode, was developed to change the way consumers interact with their mobile devices by merging entertainment and data management with mobile communications. This versatile Joystick can be integrated into Smart Phones, Tablet PCs, Notebooks, E-Readers, Smart Remote Controllers, Wireless Keyboards, Gaming, etc.
With its patented technology, compact design and fully integrated ADC with I2C interface, the miniature KMJ0401IC measures 9.8 x 9.8 x 1.6 mm, and requires no additional controller IC. Thus, allowing designers to improve performance and add features in increasingly smaller, thinner and tighter spaces.
“For a decade, we have been helping cell phone, consumer electronic and other companies design and incorporate breakthrough applications based on MEMS technology,” said Jeffrey Niew, President and CEO of Knowles. “We are both proud and excited to add the new MEMS-based joystick to our product line.”
“As the worldwide demand for mobile devices continues to expand, we know that the company that offers the best end-user experience will be the company that leads the competition,” explains John DuPont, Sr. Global Business Manager. “We developed this MEMS-based navigation device because of our commitment to provide our customers with quality products that give them a competitive edge.”
KMJ0401IC offers end users a highly reliable and easy, intuitive human interface with the satisfying feel of an analog joystick, while its low current consumption means batteries and power-sensitive devices last longer. Please visit www.knowles.com/joystick for more information.
