BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Liberty Mutual Group, a leading global property and casualty insurer, today announced that Liberty Seguros in Brazil has signed an agreement with FIFA to become a FIFA World Cup National Supporter for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil and the FIFA Confederation Cup 2013.
Liberty Seguros’ FIFA World Cup involvement makes it the “Official Insurance Provider of the FIFA World Cup 2014.”
“As a global company, it’s important for us to create partnerships that help us successfully communicate to our many diverse audiences,” said Edmund F. Kelly, Liberty Mutual Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “This is a unique opportunity to associate our brand with the most watched sport in the world during its signature event - the FIFA World Cup.”
FIFA’s Marketing Director Thierry Weil said, “It gives us great pleasure to welcome Liberty Seguros to our sponsorship family for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The fact that so many Brazilian brands are showing such great interest in the event years before it is due to arrive in the country highlights what football and the FIFA World Cup means to the people of Brazil. We’re looking forward to Liberty Seguros accompanying us on the journey to 2014.”
